Do you like how it is now (1 type of attack and instant kill even if 200 hp)?
Or you think that i should lower damage and add second attack (slash/stab). In this case i want to hear your thoughts about damage/balance.

I think that u can lower the damage of the melee we have now to 60 or 70 hp and add a new attack that instant kill with an higher delay

Knife damage at 175 would make more sense IMO b/c it's possible to survive with full HP, but would kill almost anyone with HP from just spawning. Maybe stab every 1.2 sec @ 175, or slash every 0.8 sec @ 100 damage?

But all players will spawn with 100 hp. If slash is 100 hp then whats the difference from stab in most cases?

 

I think damage must be lower + higher damage when hit head.

Stab can be around 100 HP => in head 150

Slash around 60 => in head 100

 

What damage values are in CS?

I think at least one should be above 100 base damage, as so many people spawn with at least 125 hp.

 

Stab 125 -> 188

Slash 90 -> 135 ?

 

No idea, I don't play CS 😂  Knife used to be a 1 hit in COD, now it's 2? IDK

I will disable health perks.
Base damage will be 100 for everyone (with/without perks).
And most likely i will remove pickups in this weapon preset.

Yeah in that case:

Stab can be around 100 HP => in head 150

Slash around 60 => in head 100 (but knife 40% faster)

I think it must be something like:
1 hit to kill = stab in head
2 hits to kill = stab + slash, or stab + stab, or slash in head + slash
3 hits to kill = 3 slash hits

1 hit to kill = stab in head = 105
2 hits to kill = stab + slash = 110, or stab + stab = 140, or slash in head + slash = 100
3 hits to kill = 3 slash hits = 120

 

For stab 70, slash 40, 1.5x headshot multiplier.

I think a attack with always 1 hit kill will be nice, but other types of attack that dont instant kill would be cool as well. We could have a stab-slash attack thing that could instant kill, where the player-model stab's the enemy, then drags the knife down, so you have to be accuracte with it still. Perhaps you need to stand near the enemy for a certain duration of the animation in order for it to instant kill, like perhaps you need to stab and be within 0.7m of your enemy till the slash part of the stab-slash animation plays, then, the enemy will die regardless of health. Or we could have this kill instantly but the animation takes quite a while to finish and you cant run for the duration of the animation, so you'll be a lot more at risk of dying. But if you miss the stab, it does 0 damage and you'll still be stuck in the animation.

i would only change the damage of knives in knife only, cuz in another preset your going up against people with guns and have if you have to hit them twice it would be annoying
