damage over distance

Post by Hevils » 06 Feb 2019

I think that in this game the damage over distance decreases too much. It seems that we are not playing with assault and sniper rifles, but with PP and pistols ...

Oh yes. Way too much. Comes to a point where a headshot means nothing.

When you're playing on prototype #10 for example, headshotting with M4A1 from one spawn to the other does less damage than it does from close. Takes around 3 or 4 headshots to kill someone (hardcore, 100HP). I don't have a problem with this, I mostly use L96A1.. but I guess others may have a problem with the fact that damage decreases over distance. I'd say that it makes kinda sense though, the way it works now.. Bigger distance = smaller damage... but honestly sometimes it is too big of a change and can get hard to kill, so I voted for "yes".

hmm... i've never rly had an issue m4 or l9... I also don't tend to attempt spawn to spawn w/ m4; it is a mid-high range weapon. I wouldn't expect it to do well at sniper distance, but I guess everyone has their own playstyle.

Dude you're using a .50 Cal and the maps are not that big, realistically speaking for a gun.

Prototype #10 is quite long map.
M4A1 is for close-mid range, not for sniping.

It is necessary to decrease damage over distance.
This way we can more separate rifles from sniper rifles.
If M4A1 will be powerful at any range, then on map like Prototype13 everyone will run around with M4A1.

I did some adjustments and now damage over distance will not drop till zero.
It will stay in range between 50% and 33% of maximum damage over distance.

P.S.
Hevils, how often you play with sniper rifles (in %)?

That's what I was trying to sayXD

That sounds like a reasonable adjustment OMA. Will that be live next update?

Half of the players use snipers, sometimes I see no reason to take this class. I used to play very rarely for this class, but lately I started playing for sniper more often, at about 20% of battles. I use it when necessary or when I’m tired of playing for assault.
